When the hand-powered pump on their community well failed about a month ago, the people of Rock Community Duazon had to begin walking long distances to gather safe water for their families. Because it is women and children who are traditionally tasked with gathering water in Africa, it was they who did most of the walking. The time needed for it kept mothers from caring for their families and children from being in school.

But thanks to our donors, Lifewater's repair team visited Rock Community Duazon recently, repaired the pump, and restored the flow of safe and easily accessible water for everyone. Community leaders extended many thanks to Lifewater for reviving their hope and eliminating their water problem.
