Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Request for the Construction of a borehole in Tudu Community: Greegings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, on behalf of the good people of Tudu community. I hereby humbly apply for assistance in your Agency for the provision of drinkable water in our community. The Community is a settlement in Kokona Local Government Area of nasarawa state, with a population of about 350 people, predominantly farmers. The community has tried its best over the years to maintain and sustain it's only source of drinking water (the pond) but to no avail. This is a result of increase in population and migration of (Fulami) Cattle rearers to the community, thereby overstretching the pond and so, the pond can no longer serve us. We are faced with a very serious problem of water shortage as a result we are prone to water borne diseases like bilhazia, Guinea worm, typhoid, cholera etc. The community tried to tap drinking water from the pipe-born line that leads to Keffi, but the cost was on the high side and we cannot afford it, even though we were able to contribute some little amount of money and have written letters to our political representatives, ie. Senators and members of the house of reps. There was no response from them. We are pleading for your intervention in order to salvage our situation and that of our children, to please provide us with at least a bore-hole in order to alleviate our sufferings. Thanks for you anticipated assistance. Yours sincerely, Damlani Gimba Rufai
