Broken hand pumps on wells are common in rural Nigeria. Soon after the wells are drilled and contractors paid, there is often no plan in place for maintenance of the pumps. So, it is common to visit a community, locate 6-10 wells, and discover that the hand pumps on more than half of them are broken, needing minor repairs.

Our Lifewater repair team, thanks to our donors, is equipped to find such wells and bring help to the people. This community benefited from Lifewater’s pump repair program, and the help of our donors. Safe, accessible water is flowing again.
