Project Summary |
||||||||||||||||||
This is a fast expanding community that depends on open water sources like rivers and streams which are often contaminated. The community also practice open defecation; so, both human and animal faeces find their way into the streams. With 4 broken wells, you will wonder why this community suffers from such water shortages. The old Mark II pumps are worn out without any form of maintenance. Thankfully, we were able to replace all 4 with AFRIDEV pumps and drilled two new wells in emerging sections of the community. This brought such great relief and the gratitude of this community knows no bound. Purchase of water from private water sellers is a luxury many people cannot afford in this rural community where subsistence agriculture in the main occupation. |
