A message from the community |
Dear Sponsor, The people of Marshall City want to take this time to appreciate Lifewater repair team for repairing our hand pump, because we have been suffering for safe drinking water for two months. Sincerely yours, Charles James |
Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
Marshall Community is located in the center of Marshall Town along the coast one of Liberia’s historic cities. The area used be called Gibi territory but is now known as Margibi County. The town is large and very old but still has been a challenge due to the lack of basic social services. A few years ago, Lifewater drilled four wells and added hand pumps. One of the pumps got spoiled a few weeks ago. Recently, a Lifewater repair team visited and replaced the spoiled parts. It was a great relief for this part of the community. During the time their pump was down, they had to go the other parts of the community and wait for hours to get water, due to the number of persons that are using the other well. Also, some of the people of this community had to buy water for drinking, or go almost 25-30 minutes of walking to get clean water for their domestic needs. After the repairs to the well pump, the community leaders gave glory and thanks to Lifewater for restoring their hope and reducing their suffering. |
