Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |
Gbar Town Community is along the road after Ambush Camp RIA Highway. It is close to the Lifewater 100 wells or hand pumps anniversary celebration site in Liberia Joe Blow Town. The well there is one the oldest wells drilled when Lifewater first started work in Liberia. It was drilled in 1998 but was spoiled for years now. So the people of this community have gone back to their old source -- the creek -- to get drinking water. Other people have been buying water for drinking and going far distances for their other water. When the repair team came to town, under a heavy downpour of rain, the community was glad to see them. The community leader extended many thanks and appreciation to the Lifewater family and partners for restoring their well and reducing their long distances to water. |
