A message from the community

When a community receives safe drinking water, all hope shines as bright as the sky. however, a broken-down pump sends the opposite effect -- as in the case of the Sewegbeh Community. When the pump failed, fetching water required hours each day, and contaminated water sources became the only water any local could have access to.

Thus, constant illness and poor health conditions were the only lifestyle. They then suffer the direct costs of doctors’ visits and medicine when they’re sick from drinking this contaminated water, and countless indirect costs due to the time lost.

Across Sewegbeh Community, locals spend up to $900 USD to access safe drinking water. However, Lifewater's timely intervention to repair the local pump has returned life to as it once was. Not only is the community closer to the clean water source, but it’s more safe for children to drink. Community members will no longer suffer from diarrhea and children will be able to spend more time concentrating on their studies instead of fetching water.
