A message from the community |
Marshall Community Quarter 1 is in Margibi County, along the Margibi Montserrado highway. Like in many other towns, a spoiled hand pump in Marshall Community Q1 posed a serious challenge for locals’ health. The unavailability of alternative safe drinking water sources added to the many challenges the locals encountered. Local man John S. Wilfield said residents of the town didn’t have any option but to drink from their old well. ‘‘Since the pump spoiled, we were only drinking dirty water," John said. "We suffered many times from running stomach (diarrhea) and our children sometimes missed out on their school activities too.’’ Thankfully, now that the pump is repaired, locals have returned to drinking safe water and are free from running stomach. ‘‘We thank you Lifewater for this remarkable endeavor, and may God bless you,’’ the locals wrote Lifewater in a letter. |
