Dear Lifewater & Sponsor, We the people of the community want to extend our thanks and appreciation for installing the hand pump in our community. It has brought improved hygiene and health into our town. It is our hope that you are able to continue to help the rest of our country. May God bless you and continue to give you strength and direction. Warm regards, Siaffa Massaquoi, Town Council Chairman |

This area is located on the outskirts of Liberia #39, in the county Montserrado. The G-4 community acquired its name during the deadly Liberian civil war. in the early 1990's, when logging was the major trading commodity for the country, the G-4 Company held it's business operations within this community. At that time the local people felt safe and shielded from the extreme war and poverty. At the height of the war however the company shut down all of its operations. This community has two churches, but lacks formal education and clinics. The lack of safe drinking water has been very difficult with only hand dug wells as a source of water. According to the Chairman Siaffa O Massaquoi, there have been several failed attempts to acquire safe drinking water in the community which lead to a number of deaths among the children. This new well will provide safe drinking water for many years to come giving health and hope to the people. A Health & Hygiene Workshop was held on February 27, 2020 with 24 participants. At the end of the workshop, members expressed sincere thanks and heartfelt appreciation for the life-saving lessons learned, with hope that this will end the water borne diseases within their community.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
