A message from the community |

Dear Sir, It is hard to say in words what our thoughts were when we saw your team come into our community with the drill rig. It will make such an improvement in all our daily lives to have this good safe water well close to everyone. Please express our gratitude to all who made this new well possible. In future times we hope that you can come back and see how much of a difference it will have made for our children and our families. With thanks Joe Flomo Town Chief |

Nyman Town Q#2 is located in the same town with Quarter one. It is a second community in Nyman town . It is a large community with about 625 inhabitants. The people of this Quarter are engage in farming and burning coal. The lack of safe drinking water in this community other areas remains a huge challenge, the only source they have is a hand dug well and a nearby creek. The distance from this quarter to the hand dug well or the creek is about 15 to 20 minutes walk. This has caused a wide spread of sicknesses such running stomach, diarrhea and skin rashes. The people of this quarter were very happy when the Lifewater Health and Hygiene Team arrived to educate them about their basic health and hygiene practices. As the Workshop was conducted and they were taught about the basic hygiene practice to help them reduce the high risk of illness in their community and keep their environment clean and safe from sicknesses. The lesson taught were on to how to chlorinate water before drinking and to wash their hands before eating and after using the toilet and to keep their surrounding clean of garbage and human feces. After the Workshop, they gave thanks to the Team and Lifewater Sponsors.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
