Dear Sir, The difference the hand pump will make in our community is a big deal to all of us. We have had to walk a long way for water and that we learned recently hasn't been of good quality and the reason we have been getting ill. Your assistance is deeply appreciated. Thank you! Joe Flomo Town Chief

Nyman Town Q#1 is located behind Division 21, the Firestone Rubber Plantation Sector. It is a last community located downhill of the Grand Town called Gorsue Town and was founded by an old man named Dikaqua. He went into this area with his family in 1969. Thereafter other people began to migrate into the town. Quarter 1 is located just below Gorsue Town or Quarter 3. It is a large community with about 547 inhabitants. This Town has its own school but without a clinic. The basic livelihood of The people of this Quarter is farming, petty trading etc . The lack of safe drinking water in this town have cause so many health issues to the community especially for the children and elderly. The only sources they have is a hand dug well and a creek, which took them about 18-25 minutes walk from the center town to get water from the creek. The lack of safe drinking water in this town have causes outbreak of diseases like running stomach, diarrhea and skin rashes.
This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
