Dear Lifewater & Sponsor, We the people say thank you very much for the workshop conducted for us, we hope to continue in this learning process of good Health & Hygiene practices. Best Regards, E Murphy Parker, Community Chairman There were praises for Lifewater Liberia when the towns people learned that a hand pump was going to be constructed in their community because according to them, there have been many organization in the past that did not follow through in promising to help with the water situation. Thanks to Lifewater and their sponsors a new hand pump was installed and a promise fulfilled.
On June 25,2017 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was held for the people in this community, 28 people attended. The workshop included the following topics: Disease Transmission Pathways and Blocking, Hand Washing, Ebola, and Water Chlorination. The Upper Nyenyen Town is very populated with mainly women, children and the elderly. This is a very difficult place to live, many people here depend on charcoal production, to sell at the market to provide for their families. Many of the children also aid their parents in this work which hinders them from going to school. Only Hand dug wells were in this town, and they would run dry during the dry season, forcing the people to travel long distances in search of safe drinking water. This new well will save many lives. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
