Overview of Lifewater Kenya

 
 
 
Kenya Map Since December 1993, Lifewater Kenya has been a registerd Christian NGO run by Pastor David Maina, the Pastor of the Africa Inland Church, Parkview. It has grown from the 2 founding members, Pastor David and the head driller, Mr. Antony Makau to a staff of 28 members.

The several major problems afflicting the rural and slum areas of Kenya:

  • Lack of safe clean drinking water
  • Lack of good sanitation
  • Food & Clothing
  • Education
  • Effect of HIV/AIDS
 
Kenya Rain Catchment System To address these needs Lifewater Kenya host a wide variety of programs, including:
  • Water Well Drilling
  • Pump Repair
  • Construction of Roof Catchment systems, (catchment in photo on the left will supply a school of 1000 students)

Kenya Hygiene Class They also run an extensive Health Education Department which supports clinics:
  • Providing curative services
  • Immunization for children from birth to 5 years of age
  • Home based care for people living with HIV/Aid

Meet the Team

 
 
 
  David Maina Pastor David W. Maina - Program Director

David trained with the Ministry of Water Development as Water Supply Inspector and later on completed his higher diploma in Building and Civil Engineering. He resigned from the Govenment in 1987 and started the Ministry of Lifewater Kenya. Presently he is pastoring in the Africa Island Church, Parkview which is located in a slum area. He heads an active Commuity Development Program which also houses the Clinic for Mother Child Health (MCH); Home Based care for people living with HIV/Aids; voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) as well as a Kid's Outreach Ministry.
 
   
  Antony Makau Mr. Antony Makau - Lead Driller

Antony started with Lifewater Kenya at its conception. He remains the lead drilling technician who drills water wells with the LS 100 drilling rig.
