Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

New Buchanan Block D Quarter #2 , is very populated, the land is flat with white sand and covered with elephant grass, therefore the soil is not suitable for farming. The local people tap and produce Palm Wine to sell to the local markets, to make an income for their families. The lack of safe water is a serious problem for this area, and the women and children who are responsible for collecting what they need, would walk long distances to get water every morning and evening. The challenge here also is that to dig even the hand dug wells like other communities, is very difficult due to the loose sandy ground and the sand collapses in the well while they are digging.

It was a moment of joy and relief for the women and children when they saw the Lifewater team in the community to provide them safe clean water.

On June 1, 2018 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was held for this community with 20 participants.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
