A message from the community

Dear Lifewater & Sponsor

We say many thanks and appreciation to you for constructing a water hand pump in our community. It is a great thing for us to have safe drinking water.  We heartedly appreciate your kindness towards us.

Yours faithfully,

Esther M Johnson, Assistant Zone Leader

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

On April 23, 2018 a Health & Hygiene Workshop was conducted  for the Dark Forest Communities Quarter #1,2,3,4 combined. The 25 participants observed and learned healthier practices to apply to their daily life.

Dark Forest Community quarter #2 like quarter #1, clean water is a serious problem for the local especially school going children who have to walk an hour plus to get water before getting ready for school every morning, due to the lack of safe drinking water or hand pump in the area, they drink from hand dug wells that runs dry in during the dry season, and dangerous to drink in the rainy season because of the flowing dirty water that flows into the wells. It was a moment of joy and relief for the children when they saw the Life water drilling team entering the community to provide them a safe and secure source of water and hundreds of women and children gather to see the arrival of LifeWater vehicles.

The community is growing rapidly due to the location and availability of farm land for gardening and small farming. Though lack water remains a challenge; the community is friable for agricultural activities.

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
