The Indian Grave Community is located in Ben's Town. The road leads from Boy's town junction along the Marshall highway. There is a grave in certain location of this community that the Indian people used to buried their dead ones, for that reason, the community was named after it. This site was also used in 2014 by the Liberia government to burn the body of those who lost their lives from the Ebola virus. This community is very large and very populated with the ground formation been sandy and some area been very wet during the rainy season. The people of this community are very poor. Their sources of income is substance farming. Because of lack of resources, they have no access to safe drinking water; for this, they Have problem with water-born diseases. On Feb 7th, 20 community members attended a Health & Hygiene workshop, covering basic disease transmission principles and handwashing techniques.
Lifewater Liberia solved their problem by drilling and hole fitted with modern Afridev hand Pump. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support! |
