A message from the community

Dear Sir,

We extend warmest greetings to you, your family and the Lifewater family in the Mighty and matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The chairman and all members of Block 'C' community extend our warmest thanks and appreciation to you & your organization for giving us a safe drinking water well. We have been drinking from open dug well where we have experienced a lot of sickness within our community.  But we believe things will be so much better with our new handpump.

So we say thank you very much for giving us life, becauswe the bible says, one who gives water, gives life.  We pray that as you have given us the pump you will also be considering giving us a very good public washroom for we are using bushes and plastic bags to toilet.  We feel that if we have safe drinking water alone and no good latrine, our lives still will not be safe.  In the rainy season, erosion will bring back all the sickness again and now we know why, after our hygiene workshop.

We pray that you will again think about our request .

May God abundantly bless you

Amen

Sister Mercy K Lekayean,

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Jilazohn is located a few miles from Fendall. The town which was a small town long ago is now very large because many people who were retired from the company called Chinese Farm, bought land from the Jilazohn people and built, thereby enlarging the size and population of the Town and divided into Blocks.

There wasn't  a single hand pump in this town, so the residents had to walk about 30 minutes just to get safe drinking water.

According to the community chairman, the community had written many water related organizations that had promised them but those promises never came through. But thanks to Lifewater for coming to our aid, may God richly bless you.

Mr. Fillie, Chairman

This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
