Dear Sir, We the dwellers of New Totota (Lower) town community sincerely extend our warmest and deepest thanks and appreciation to you all. The safe water well that you have provided has helped us tremendously already and we know that our future looks promising with this new waterpoint. Thanks for you aid, Yours sincerely Matthew Kollie
Central New Totota is found within Totota, salala District, Lower Bong County. This community is in the middle of New Totota. It is large community with more women and children. The house are built with dirt bricks, cement and zinc. They earn their living by farming, hunting, tapping of rubber trees, burning of wood coal and some by petty trade. Their source of safe drinking water hand dug wells that are not safe for drinking. those hand dug wells are not deep enough; some are 10 feet, 5 feet. during the time of the raining season, the ground water floods into those wells causing it unsafe for drinking bathing. And during the dry season, the wells go dry causing water shortage for the people. The health & Hygiene Workshop was well received on Sept 19, 2017 and had 25 people attending. This well was drilled as part of a cooperative NGO initiative to provide safe drinking water to all Liberian's. Thanks to ''The Last Well Inc.'' for their coordination and support!
