A message from the community |

Dear Sir: Thank you very much for repairing our broken pump on the well in our village. It has been down since last November and we have suffered. After waiting for a few weeks to collect funds and supplies to be able to work along side the team, we are very happy that it is now finished and we are enjoying safe water once again. Thank you for coming to help and we now know to begin collection of some financial means for future repairs as needed to upkeep this well. We send our appreciation to those who helped us both here and overseas. Sincerely Amos Zomo Anzah village secretary |

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners) |

I wanted to add some background information on the community of Anzah. The population of this village is about 150 that includes some nomadic Fulani settlements. Anzah is about 10 miles from Kundame and is near a river that flows only in the raining season. During the dry months the river dries up and people have to dig up little holes along its banks for water. The coming of the hand pump two years ago provided much needed relief. The well also provides safe water for the Fulani tribe that has settled in the area, as well as to travelers on their way to either Garaku or Kundame. Now the pump provides clean drinking water without the fear of water borne illnesses like cholera and the likes. It is hoped that in the future a second well can be provided for this growing village. |
