For over a month, women of Soi Kolweny village in Kisumu county would make several trips to a private-owned well to collect clean water for their families. While they were able to acquire clean drinking water, they also appreciated the struggle that came with it in terms of time and money it cost to collect water. 

Usually, clean water is easily accessible in Soi Kolweny village, but during this time, the village well's hand pump had broken down, making it impossible for anyone to access clean water.

But recently, Lifewater Canada funded the repair of the broken hand pump, thus making clean, safe and affordable drinking water easily accessible to all in Soi Kolweny village.
