A message from the community

The Wagunga community wish to thank Lifewater Canada for funding the repair of our broken hand pump. We are having an easier time collecting water from our well and having enough time to focus on other activities.

Some community details (provided by our in-country partners)

Women would miss income-earning time after the hand pump on Wagunga village’s well stopped working and they had to go out in search of water. The only available source was a dirty river about four kilometres away. The walk to and from this source was time-consuming and tiring. And sadly, the water brought home to families was dirty so it caused children and adults to become sick with diarrhea or other illnesses. But recently, Lifewater visited Wagunga and, thanks to our donors, repaired the broken hand pump. The grateful community has safe water again.

Every $1 you give provides a child with safe water for a year!
